To begin with this particular recipe, we have to first prepare a few ingredients. You can cook red chutni using 6 ingredients and 2 steps. Here is how you can achieve that.

Wait for the mustard seeds to start popping and once they do pour the tadka/ tempering on the red chutney. Enjoy this chutney fresh along with idli, or dosa or any other south indian food.
Instructions to make Red chutni:
- At first in a food processor add chopped red chilli flakes, garlic cloves, cumin, vinegar and water and make a paste out of it..
- Then in a pan add oil then add the paste of chutney in it and cook for 2 to 3 mint then serve with pakoras and other fried items..
You can also store this chutney in the refrigerator for a day but I recommend to make it fresh. As much as I love a universal chutney like Cilantro Chutney, I also love a good red chutney! I think it does a great job of complimenting its counterpart chutneys and of course, adds beautiful color to dishes! This "laal chutney" which translates into "red chutney" is what we use in my Mom's Falafel, Spicy and hot red chutney for chaat snacks, made with just three ingredients - dry red chilies, garlic and salt. This chutney is versatile and can be added to chaat like sev puri, ragda patties, dahi sev batata puri, bhel puri and even to wraps, sandwiches or with pakoras (fritters).
