- Set aside for about 1 hour to let dough rise.
- Place the dough on the counter and cut into 6 pieces which we will shape into balls.
- Flatten the balls but make sure the middle is thicker.
- Place the chocolate chips in the middle and fold the sides of the dough over top the chocolate.
- Place into cupcake paper, cover and let rest for another 10 minutes.
- Steam for 15-20 minutes.
Tear the coriander leaves on top, then serve with hoisin sauce for dipping. But if you can't, fear not: making your own vegan steamed buns at home really isn't that tough. The buns start with a yeast dough that's not that much different from one you might use to bake bread. To make the dough, dissolve some yeast in warm water and let it sit while you mix up some flour, sugar, salt and baking powder. Steam/Pan-fry: You can also just steam the buns (without pan-frying).
