To begin with this recipe, we must first prepare a few ingredients. You can have triple apple pie using 8 ingredients and 5 steps. Here is how you cook it.
The ingredients needed to make Triple Apple Pie:
- Take large bag Apple Purée (1 kilo?)
- Take Red Apples
- Prepare Green Apples
- Take Puff Pastry
- Prepare eggs
- Prepare Butter to grease tins with
- Take Flour for rolling out!

To freeze Baked Pie: Assemble and bake pie as directed in recipe. Wrap pie tightly with plastic wrap. I like to double or triple the recipe to make several bags of apple pie filling. Transfer to a bowl and toss with the granulated sugar and lemon juice.
Steps to make Triple Apple Pie:
- Flour a large board, then roll out pastry very thin. Grease tins with the butter. Cut pastry to fit and trim edges.
- Whisk the 2 eggs in a cup with a fork, and brush over the pastry
- Tip Apple Purée into the tins to about 3/4 deep. Wash, core then slice the apples thinly and arrange on top
- Brush more whisked egg over the top of the slices of Apple. Bake in medium hot over for about 20 minutes until the pastry is golden brown.

Top the pie crust with half the sliced apples. The interesting thing about this recipe is the way the caramel sauce is poured over the apples and the lattice crust. You know how with a traditional apple pie some of the apple juices will caramelize as it bakes and bubble out of the pie and bake into and onto the flaky crust? That's how this whole pie is. I remember coming home sullen one day because we'd lost a softball game.
